This is raw copper and will naturally age and patina.
To clean this piece: rinse for 30 seconds in 2-3 tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce, a mixture of lemon juice and salt, or even ketchup - then rinse beneath lukewarm water, then pat gently with a clean, dry and soft cloth.
